Traits
The Cavapoo is a cross between the Toy or Miniature Poodle, and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Cavapoos get along well with all human families; from the elderly to families with small children. They normally have a brown, blonde, white, black, gold and tawny coat, round face, and long ears. There can be some variation within the breed. Some puppies will lean more towards a Poodle-like appearance while others will favor the Cavalier in features. Colors can vary including solid black&Tan, solid white, chestnut and white, white and tan, or Ruby .
Personality
Cavapoos are gentle and loving dogs who get along very well with young children or other small pets. They prefer the company of humans, and can become strongly attached to a specific owner. They are intelligent, and respond better to gentle guidance. As puppies they will be very curious with a short attention span, however, they can learn house rules quickly if there is consistency in training.
Grooming
In terms of grooming, they are considered a low-maintenance breed with hyporallergenic coats. Cavapoos can have different types of fur, but most have a curly or wavy coat. They look their best with a professional grooming every four to six weeks, and requires brushing or combing every two to three days to prevent mats or tangles as well as regular bathing every two to four weeks. Cavapoo puppies are among the breeds that commonly develop reddish-brown tear stains beneath their eyes. Your best bet is to wash the face daily, carefully wiping beneath the eyes, to prevent stains from setting. In addition, trim there nails every few weeks, keep the ears clean and dry, and brush there teeth regularly with a vet-approved pet toothpaste.
